Basic education and literacy are one of Rotary's Six Areas of Focus.  Our dictionary project is one of the club's favorite programs.  Each year we distribute a dictionary to every third grade student in Evesham Twp.  We visit with them, discuss what Rotary is and does, and take a first look at the books which will be use as a part of a teaching unit in their cirriculum.  The children are always amazed by the longest word in the dictionary printed on the last page of the book.  This year, we asked the students to write a letter of thanks to a member of our armed forces stationed in Afghanistan using some new words found in their dictionaries.  As you can imagine, their letters were priceless!

In these photos, members of the Marlton Rotary receive awards for their donation of dictionaries to all 3rd graders.  Thank you, Evesham School Board!
