Members of Marlton Rotary joined our neighbors in Mt. Laurel in honoring Rotarian Jarry Jones for his 40 years of Service Above Self.
Jarry is a six-time Paul Harris Fellow, winner of both the Mike Kitdis Award for Environmental Work and the Archie Award for Community Service, and has served as club president twice as well as serving as Assistant Governor under six different District Governors.

Jarry says his "Secret to success is join early, don't quit and don't move" and he has truly lived this motto.  He began his career in service to community 70 years ago at age 16, when he joined the Fellowship Fire Department and moved through the ranks of what is now the Mt. Laurel Fire District.  At the same time, he joined the Grange, an organization of farmers started after the Civil War at the request of President Lincoln.  Having held offices on the local, county, state and national Grange levels, he currently holds the office of Master (President) of Moorestown Grange #8.

As a member of the County Green Acres and Mt. Laurel Green Acres boards, he was involved in the design and construction of the Laurel Acres Park where he mowed the first soccer fields and coached Greentree Soccer for 13 years.  In 2004, Jarry took on the project of renovating the historic Alice Paul House, organizing Boy Scout Troop 76 to tackle the landscape clean up.  There doesn't seem to be an aspect of life in Mount Laurel that Jarry hasn't touched!

A lifetime member of Moorestown and Mt. Laurel Quaker Meeting houses, Jarry has taught Sunday school, led the Teenage Youth Group, and served on many committees including the property committee which was involved with the renovation of the historic Mt. Laurel Meeting House (built in 1760).

A local historian, Jarry is a great resource, a good friend and a fantastic Rotarian.  We congratulate him on this well deserved recognition!
